Karon Evanoff

Karon joined HID Global in April 2012.   Her mission was supply chain transformation.   She has set up and led global teams in companies such as Western Digital, AMCC, Powerwave and SolFocus.   At HID, she is responsible for both direct and indirect material spend of over $500M and serves on the Global Supply Chain Steering Committee for HID’s Swedish parent company – Assa Abloy.   Karon brings over 20 years of Supply Chain experience.   The bulk of her experience has been in the High Tech industry sector working with leading edge technologies.  This required her to meet demanding challenges in sourcing not only materials but technology and service providers.  
The challenges at HID for indirect sourcing are many and varied.   Multiple global sites, growth through rapid acquisitions and cultural nuances make indirect sourcing can raise barriers which require perseverance to remove.    How does one leverage all available resources to capitalize on all areas of indirect spend.  Do you hire category managers for every category?   How do you handle regional vs global spend and gain efficiencies that drop directly to the bottom line?    Does one size fit all?  Can an Indirect Sourcing manager navigate the minefield of tsunamis that come from driving change in process, preferred suppliers and tools?  How do you start when there’s no real foundation?

Karon will address the above issues and how she gained traction in an organization that is culturally averse to change and where indirect sourcing is a new frontier.
